ZVISHAVANEFC Platinum were once again forced to share the spoils after playing out a 1–1 draw with ZPC Kariba in an entertaining Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) encounter.

Selemani came to the rescue for FC Platinum in the 61st minute, scoring the equaliser that ensured they salvaged a point and avoided defeat.

The result mirrors FC Platinum’s campaign so far, marked by an unusual pattern of stalemates. The team has now recorded 16 draws in 30 matches, alongside 10 wins and 4 losses — a record that highlights both their defensive solidity and their struggle to turn close contests into victories.

Despite the lack of consistent wins, FC Platinum remains competitive. They currently sit sixth on the PSL table with 46 points from 31 matches, keeping faint hopes alive of closing the gap on the league leaders.

Top striker Nickson Nyasulu has been instrumental this season, netting two goals, while Vincent Nyangulu has chipped in with one.

Coach Norman Mapeza remains optimistic, expressing belief that his side can still push for a stronger finish if they can convert their dominance in possession into goals.“We’ve shown resilience throughout the season, but we need to start turning these draws into wins,” Mapeza said after the match.

With only a handful of games remaining, FC Platinum’s ability to adapt and sharpen their attacking edge will determine whether they can climb further up the table or settle for a mid-table finish in what has been a season of mixed fortunes.
